In 2017, staff from the five ELCA synods in Wisconsin met to discuss the possibility of working together to form Adaptive Learning Communities. The product of this meeting was Faithful Innovations—a model for working together, sharing resources, coaching, and training together that would strengthen the vitality of congregations in each of the synods.
Luther Seminary's WI Pastoral Coaching Cohort will utilize the Faithful Innovations model to provide coaching to 24 pastors throughout the six ELCA synods in Wisconsin. This 12-18 month peer coaching cohort creates an intentional learning community to equip pastors for advanced missional leadership. These pastors will be identified through a competitive process as those who are committed to leading their community in faithful innovation, ready and eager to experiment in their leadership to address core challenges facing their congregation, and willing to learn in a cohort of peers.
Who is Served: The program will impact pastors, their families, churches, and the broader community.
